How to Submit a Mail Ballot
Completing Your Mail Ballot
- Use a black pen to complete the ballot.
- Put only your ballot -- and no one else's ballot -- in your envelope. If there are multiple ballots in one envelope they won't be counted.
- Sign and date the envelope. Your signature on the envelope will be compared with the signature in your voter file to verify your identity.
- Include your phone number and email address in case there are questions.
Submitting Your Mail Ballot
Mail ballots must be RECEIVED at the Supervisor of Elections office by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.
- You can send your ballot via regular mail, using the postage prepaid envelope (be sure to mail it at least one week before Election Day).
- You can deliver your mail ballot in person to a Supervisor of Elections office up until 7pm on Election Day (click HERE for Supervisor of Elections office locations and opening hours; note that there are extended hours during election season).
- From August 10 to August 18, You may also deliver your mail ballot in person at other ballot drop locations at specified dates and hours (click HERE for a list of drop box locations and opening times).
Was Your Ballot Received?
Once the Supervisor's office begins counting ballots (about three weeks before Election Day), you can check online to confirm that your ballot was received. Click HERE to learn how. The confirmation will appear within two or three business days after the Supervisor receives your ballot.

How to Vote in Person
ID Requirements
You must have valid and current ID with photo and signature to vote in person (can be 2 different ID’s) from this list:
- FL Drivers License (your license must be current BUT doesn't have to have your current address)
- FL ID card issued by DMV
- US Passport
- Debit/Credit Card
- Student ID
- Military ID
- VA Health ID
- Retirement Center or Neighborhood Association ID
- Gun License
- Government employee ID
- Government assistance ID
You can change your voting address as late as Election Day
But don't wait until then! The best way to change your voting address is to call the Supervisor's office at 727-464-8683. The office is open every day through Election Day (including on weekends) during these hours:
- Monday-Friday, August 12-16: 8am – 6pm
- Saturday August 17 - Sunday, August 18: 8am - 5pm
- Monday, August 19: 8am - 5pm
- ELECTION DAY, Tuesday, August 20: 7am – 7pm
If you've received a mail ballot, you can still vote in person
- You can turn your mail ballot in at the polls or an early voting location and exchange it for an in-person ballot.
- If you've received a mail ballot and don't bring your mail ballot to your in-person votng location, you can still vote; a poll worker will check to be sure you haven't voted before allowing you to vote.
- You can't submit your mail ballot at the polls; you must submit it at a Supervisor's office or a drop location. Click HERE for Supervisor and drop locations and opening times.
You can vote early at any early voting location
You can vote early in person on any day (including Saturday and Sunday) through Sunday, August 18 at any Supervisor of Elections office. You don't have to choose the location closest to where you live. Click HERE for locations and times for early voting.
You can bring someone to help you
You can bring someone to help you vote in person or an electon worker worker can assist you. You must be able to complete some paperwork and you must be able to enter the building
