    Judicial Retention

    Voters are asked to vote either “yes” to retain or “no” to not retain these Supreme Court justices and District Court of Appeal judges. There are no opposing candidates. If a majority of voters vote "no" on retention of a justice or judge, then Governor DeSantis will appoint a replacement. Set forth below is information that voters may use to determine whether to vote "yes" or "no" on retention.

    County Ballot Questions

    Proposed County Charter Amendments

    Below are recommendations from Democratic leaders.

    (impose a limit of 12 consecutive years as a County Commissioner, with eligibility to resume after at least 4 years of not being a County Commissioner)


    #2: NO 
    (increase requirements for citizen initiative petition drives)


    #3: YES
    (lower signature percentage for petition drives for proposed County Charter amendments from 8% of Pinellas registered voters to 5%)

    (increase the vote required to remove a County Attorney)

    (require that County Charter referenda appear only on ballots in general elections held in November in even-numbered years)

    (reduce public notice requirements for special elections to vote on County Charter amendment referenda)

    (revise County Charter to remove outdated one-time provisions, remove gender references, update organization names, and remove references to organizations that no longer exist)

    Pinellas County School Board Referendum

    YES  (impose ad valorem tax of .001 of assessed property value to provide school funding)

    City of Dunedin Charter Amendments

    Below are recommendations from Indivisible North Pinellas. 

    #1: YES
    (amend City Charter references to Commission members and their office from "he" to "he or she" and "his" to "his or hers" to reflect both genders)


    #2: NO
    (amend City Charter to change the term "voters" to "electors" to be consistent with defined term "electors")


    #3: YES
    (amend City Charter to include an introductory statement outlining the sources of the City Commission's powers and authorities)


    #4: YES
    (amend City Charter to correct section numbering and grammar and internal references errors) 

    City of Largo Referendum Question

    Sell the 14-acre property at 201 Highland Avenue North that includes the old City Hall and existing police and public safety facilities buildings. 

    YES (indicates unanimous approval for inclusion by Largo City Commission, including all Democrats on City Commission)

    City of Seminole Charter Amendments

    YES indicates unanimous approval for inclusion by the Seminole City Council, including all Democrats on City Council.

    #1: YES
    (require that divestment of city property designated as recreational be approved by a 2/3 vote of city electors as opposed to a City Council vote)


    #2: YES
    (allow City Council to replace Vice Mayor by 4 votes as opposed to 5)


    #3: YES
    (require that a City Council member with 3 consecutive unexcused absences from Council business meetings forfeits their office)


    #4: YES
    (allow a City Council member appointed to fill a vacancy to remain in office for the remaining term as opposed to until the next regular election) 


    #5: YES
    (allow the Vice Mayor who became Interim Mayor due to the permanent absence of the Mayor to continue in that role for the remaining term as opposed to until the next regular election)


    #6: YES
    (allow a Mayor or Council Member, who is appointed to fill a vacancy occurring because no candidate qualifies for the office, to serve the entirety of the term of the vacant office rather than just until the next regular election)


    #7: YES
    (increase the time between Charter reviews from 5 to 6 years to better conform to the election cycle)

    City of Tarpon Springs Referendum Question

    Purchase a 14-acre vacant parcel that is located on the north side of the Anclote River from Anclote Properties, LLC for $5,250,000.00 for the purpose of a permanent dredge spoil site, expanded water utility facilities, recreational trail parking/access, and other municipal uses. 

    YES (indicates unanimous approval for inclusion by Tarpon Springs City Commission)
